Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about swaps, custody, timing, and fees.
01What is BlockSwap?
BlockSwap is a crypto-only swap experience: you connect a wallet or follow a deposit address flow, and liquidity is sourced from integrated providers. We are not a traditional custodial exchange where you park balances on our books.
02How does a swap work, step by step?
You pick the pair and amount, review the quote and destination address, then send the input asset. After the required chain confirmations, the output asset is delivered to the address you provided. Always double-check network and contract details before sending.
03Why is non-custodial important?
In a non-custodial model, you are not required to hand full control of your assets to a single platform balance sheet. Settlement still depends on blockchain rules and third-party routing; use official links only and verify addresses every time.
04How long does settlement usually take?
Timing depends on the chains involved, mempool congestion, and how many confirmations the route requires. Many swaps complete in under a few minutes; heavy congestion can extend that window.
05What fees should I expect?
You may see a service spread or routing fee on top of native network fees (gas) paid to validators or miners. The interface shows an estimate before you confirm; final costs can vary slightly with network conditions.
06What if I use the wrong network or address?
Blockchain transfers are irreversible. Sending to the wrong address or chain can mean permanent loss. Take a moment to confirm the asset, network, and destination before you broadcast a transaction.
